WASHINGTON, DC – The Corn Refiners Association today applauded the nomination of A. Ellen Terpstra to be the next Chief Agricultural Negotiator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.
“Ellen Terpstra is an exceptional candidate to become the next Chief Agricultural Negotiator,” said Audrae Erickson, president of the Corn Refiners Association. “Her vast experience with agricultural trade issues, including previous positions in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and as Administrator of the Foreign Agricultural Service at the Department of Agriculture, will serve her well in this capacity. She is dedicated to opening new export markets for agriculture and has tremendous skills to achieve meaningful results for our sector.”
President George W. Bush nominated A. Ellen Terpstra to be the Chief Agricultural Negotiator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Ms. Terpstra currently serves as Deputy Under Secretary for Farm and Foreign Agricultural Services at the Department of Agriculture. Her nomination will be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

CRA and its predecessors have served this important segment of American agribusiness since 1913. Corn refiners manufacture sweeteners, ethanol, starch, bioproducts, corn oil, and feed products from corn components such as starch, oil, protein, and fiber.
