WASHINGTON, DC – The Corn Refiners Association (CRA) today welcomed the agreement reached by the Bush Administration, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Congressional leadership to establish standards for labor and environment issues in pending and future trade agreements.
“The agreement reached today will provide a path forward for trade agreements presented to Congress for a vote,” said Audrae Erickson, president of the Corn Refiners Association.
“The Corn Refiners Association applauds the efforts of Speaker Pelosi, Chairman Rangel, Ambassador Schwab and their staffs for crafting a solution that will enable our industry to benefit from new market openings through trade,” continued Erickson.
CRA is the national trade association representing the corn refining industry in the United States. CRA and its predecessors have served this important segment of American agribusiness since 1913. Corn refiners manufacture sweeteners, ethanol, starch, bioproducts, corn oil, and feed products from corn components such as starch, oil, protein, and fiber.
