CEO John Bode Urges U.S. Senate to Promptly Approve Governor Perdue Nomination

March 30, 2017

WASHINGTON, DC – Corn Refiners Association President and CEO John Bode issued the following statement today after the Senate Agriculture Committee approved Governor Sonny Perdue’s nomination to the Office of the Secretary of Agriculture.

“We urge the U.S. Senate to promptly approve the Senate Agriculture Committee’s recommendation to confirm Governor Sonny Perdue as Secretary of Agriculture.  A veterinarian and the son of a farmer and a school teacher who has worked extensively to promote agriculture trade, Dr. Perdue genuinely understands American agriculture.  His background and passion for agriculture will serve President Trump, the economy, and the American people well. CRA stands ready to work with Dr. Perdue on the many ways value added corn products can benefit American jobs and consumers.”

The Corn Refiners Association (CRA) is the national trade association representing the corn refining industry of the United States. CRA and its predecessors have served this important segment of American agribusiness since 1913. Corn refiners manufacture sweeteners, starch, advanced bioproducts, corn oil and feed products from corn components such as starch, oil, protein and fiber.
