WASHINGTON, DC – Corn Refiners Association President and CEO John Bode issued the following statement congratulating Sonny Perdue on his confirmation as Secretary of Agriculture.
“We commend the U.S. Senate for confirming Governor Sonny Perdue today on a bipartisan basis as the next U.S. Secretary of Agriculture. Secretary Perdue is thoughtful, pragmatic, and has a long history of working across the aisle to deliver positive solutions. The bipartisan support he has received from past agriculture secretaries, governors, and agriculture groups across the nation speaks to his capabilities. The corn refining industry has been waiting too long to get this important position filled, and stands ready to work with the incoming secretary on a range of issues from biotechnology to trade, and, of course, the 2018 Farm Bill.”
