“Access to Safe, Healthy & Plentiful Food More Important Than Ever”

WASHINGTON, DC – With America and the world grappling with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Corn Refiners Association (CRA) this week released a new video thanking all of the workers in the food and agriculture industries who are working overtime to keep grocery shelves stocked at a time when Americans need it the most. The video also includes remarks by Vice President Mike Pence who applauded the work of the food and agriculture communities to keep our food supply chain safe and running on time in his comments during a briefing last week on the coronavirus pandemic.

“Access to safe, healthy, plentiful food in this time of crisis is arguably more important than ever,” CRA President and CEO John Bode said today. “The corn refining industry stands with President Trump, Vice President Pence and citizens across the entire country in giving heartfelt thanks to our workers on the front lines. During this pandemic, food and agriculture workers—farmers to food manufacturers, processors, grocers, and truckers—are putting in long hours and hard work to keep Americans fed. That’s why we released this new video calling attention to the work of not just corn refiners, but the entire food and agriculture community during this difficult time.”

“Corn refiners have stepped up their efforts at plants across the country, implementing increased safety measures to ensure the necessary pieces of the food supply chain are abundant. But it’s more than just food, corn products also help produce vital medical supplies, including latex gloves, hand sanitizer, and liquid hand soap. We join the entire nation in applauding workers throughout the country as we navigate uncertain times together,” Bode concluded.

In an effort to provide timely, useful information to our members and consumers, the Corn Refiners Association has developed a COVID-19 Resource Center to share resources from public health agencies to manage the spread and impact of COVID-19.
