“Condolences to the family, staff and countless friends of Congressman John Lewis upon his recent passing. With persistent grace, Mr. Lewis made our country a better place, though as he put it, ‘we still have miles to go.’ Throughout his life, Mr. Lewis strove to bring America together. His book, Across That Bridge, provides an inspiring explanation of how his leadership in non-violent protest was purposeful pursuit of a plan to bring America together by overcoming racial injustice. Mr. Lewis will be greatly missed.”
