PBPC SPEAKER SERIES: FARM BILL & BIOECONOMY

CELEBRATING AGRICULTURE TRADE AT THE ‘TRADE PROM’

CRA recently celebrated the importance of agriculture trade to the U.S. economy during “Trade Prom,” the annual dinner of the Washington International Trade Association and Washington International Trade Foundation. CRA’s Robin Bowen and Kent Roberson were pleased to be joined by esteemed colleagues from the U.S. Embassy of Mexico and the offices of Rep. Lloyd Doggett (D-TX) and Sens. CRA FALL INTERNSHIP APPLICATIONS

CRA is actively reviewing applications for our fall internships. Our internship program allows undergraduate students and recent graduates to strengthen their professional development and engage directly with stakeholders and policymakers in food and agriculture. CRA offers internships in communications, environmental and food policy, government relations, and trade policy. Please share the application with anyone interested in joining our team!

iFAB TECH HUB FUNDING

Illinois Fermentation and Agriculture Biomanufacturing (iFAB) Tech Hub consortium members, including CRA and our members Primient and ADM, celebrate the U.S. Department of Commerce and Economic Development’s $51 million grant through its Tech Hubs Program. The grant and Phase 2 Tech Hub designation will greatly expand Illinois’ biomanufacturing industry, including precision fermentation, national security, and job growth. 

INGREDION RELEASES SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

On July 16, CRA member Ingredion released its Sustainability Report for 2023 entitled “Building a Sustainable Future. Together.” The report highlights a 22% drop in the company’s carbon emissions since 2019, the sustainable sourcing of more than two-thirds of its priority crops, and targeted measures to reduce waste, improve water quality, and foster community.

ROQUETTE RELEASES ITS GLOBAL SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

CRA member Roquette released its global sustainable development program life+nature, which aims to renew and strengthen the company’s sustainability approach and define ambitious targets for 2030. Roquette is committed to decarbonizing by reducing direct and indirect emissions, systematically integrating eco-design, and putting people at the heart of its well-being in terms of health, safety, and ethics.
