CRA staff met with Ambassadors from the Indiana Agricultural Leadership Program to discuss CRA’s advocacy work, policy priorities, and efforts to grow the bioeconomy. It was a pleasure to connect with these rising leaders in agriculture, and we look forward to working with them to tackle agriculture’s greatest challenges.
CRA President and CEO John Bode issued a statement regarding the Office of the United States Trade Representative requesting technical consultations with the Government of Mexico under the Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures Chapter of the USMCA due to Mexico’s presidential decree restricting use of GMO corn without scientific basis. CRA applauds the leadership of Representatives Ashley Hinson (IA-02), Dan Newhouse (WA-04), Tracey Mann (KS-01), Brad Finstad (MN-01), Jimmy Panetta (CA-19), Jim Costa (CA-21), Kim Schrier (WA-08), and Chellie Pingree (ME-01) for their introduction of the Agriculture Export Promotion Act in the U.S. House, as well as Senators Angus King (ME), Joni Ernst (IA), and Tina Smith (MN) for their introduction of the Expanding Agricultural Exports Act in the U.S. Senate.
