CRA STATEMENT AFTER FARM BILL

CRA President and CEO John Bode issued the following statement on the vote to advance the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2024 out of the House Ag Committee:

“This action is a critical step in the Farm Bill process, and we appreciate the work of the House Agriculture Committee to move closer to a new five-year Farm Bill. We are grateful for the efforts of bioeconomy champions to ensure the corn refining industry’s bipartisan priorities are an integral part of the discussion. We view it as an important step toward a bipartisan Farm Bill.”

CRA MEETS WITH AGRICULTURE OFFICIALS IN MEXICO

CRA recently held its board of directors meeting in Mexico City. We were honored to meet with Mexico’s Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Víctor Villalobos and, at the U.S. embassy, Charge d’affaires, Deputy Chief of Mission Mark Johnson and staff from USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service. CRA shared its mutual commitment to integrated North American markets.

CRA STEVIE AWARD WINNERS

Jamaica Gayle, CRA Director, Sustainability & Environmental Affairs

This month, CRA celebrates Jamaica Gayle, Director of Sustainability and Environmental Affairs at CRA, for her recognition by The American Business Awards and receipt of the Gold Stevie Award for her work as a leader, contributor, and trailblazer in sustainability. 

Additionally, CRA President and CEO John Bode was awarded the Silver Stevie Award for Non-Profit Thought Leader of the Year. CRA congratulates celebrates Jamaica and John on winning these awards and celebrates their hard work on behalf of CRA! 

REP. MAX MILLER CO-SPONSORS BIOMANUFACTURING AND JOB ACTS 

On May 8, Rep. Max Miller (R-OH-7) joined 13 other Representatives in cosponsoring the Biomanufacturing and Jobs Act. CRA thanks Rep. Max Miller for his support of the bill, which will help strengthen U.S. agricultural markets, create new jobs in the ag industry, and bolster our country’s position as a global leader in biomanufacturing.

WINNERS OF 2024 CRA SAFETY AWARDS  

CRA is thrilled to announce the winners of CRA’s 2024 Safety Awards, which recognize member companies that have achieved zero lost workdays, RIR Excellence, or have completed one million hours of work. This year, ADMCargillGrain Processing CorporationIngredion Incorporated, and Primient plants were honored as award recipients, reflecting a commitment to fostering safe and healthy workplaces for employees.

GPC WINS 2023 PINNACLE AWARD

The Grain Processing Corporation (GPC) was also recently awarded the Union Pacific Railroad’s prestigious 2023 Pinnacle Award. Union Pacific recognized GPC’s safe transport of chemicals by rail; implementation of release prevention protocol; creation of corrective action plans; and achievement of zero non-accident releases of chemicals.

TATE & LYLE RECOGNIZED AS EUROPEAN CLIMATE LEADER 

On April 16, CRA member Tate & Lyle was recognized as a European Climate Leader by the Financial Times in partnership with data provider Statista. In the FT Special Report, Tate & Lyle was recognized amongst the top 600 European companies that have most substantially reduced their Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions over a five-year period. CRA applauds Tate & Lyle for this recognition, and for continuing to strive to be a leader on climate action.
