WASHINGTON, D.C. – Corn Refiners Association President and CEO John Bode released a statement following the announcement of an economic agreement between the United States and the United Kingdom.
“We are incredibly pleased to see action to grow the export potential for U.S. agricultural products. When countries agree to do business with each other by lowering trade barriers, American farmers and ranchers win time and time again. We hope this agreement will be the first of many to open new markets for U.S. agriculture, and we stand ready to assist the Trump Administration and our friends around the world to secure more deals in the future. We are eager to review the full details of the agreement and work with the U.S. and U.K. governments to promote science-based standards between the two countries.”
The United States exports about $44 million of refined corn products annually to the United Kingdom, primarily consisting of modified starches and animal feed.
